Date: November 20, 2022
Time: 1:00 PM - 3:00 PM EST
Event Description:
1,000 turkeys to be handed out through The Big Give Back on November 20
Local entrepreneur Kris Roglieri of Prime Commercial Lending, with support from William ‘Tragedy’ Yager, continue their tradition of providing local families with a free Thanksgiving dinner. The 3nd annual The Big Give Back, which will be held this Sunday, November 20 from 1:00-3:00 PM in the South End of Albany at 224 S Pearl Street, will provide 1,000 turkeys and 5,000 side dishes.

With the support of Albany County Executive Dan McCoy, the giveaway will be held in the Board of Elections Parking Lot, across from the City Mission.

1,000 frozen turkeys, along with 5,000 sides - five sides with each turkey - will be given away to anyone in need this Sunday, November 20. The giveaway will be first come/first served from 1:00 PM-3:00 PM, while supplies last. There will also be separate lines for walk-up attendees or those able to drive up.

“We have helped to feed hundreds of families a Thanksgiving meal since we began this program, and it is an honor to be able to assist even more of our neighbors this year,” said Kris Roglieri. “It is my obligation, since I have the means to do so, to give back to Albany and those in need.”

“Downtown Albany is an amazing place to live, work and raise a family. However, this neighborhood and the entire city cannot truly thrive without lifting up our disadvantaged communities. That is why I’m proud that Albany County can support this cherished tradition spearheaded by two compassionate entrepreneurs – Kris and Trag,” said Albany County Executive Daniel P. McCoy. “The Big Give Back is so much more than simply providing delicious meals to hundreds of local families and individuals – it’s about offering hope and relief during Thanksgiving and the holiday season when far too many are still struggling to make ends meet.”

"Downtown is a community that gives back year-round, but it is especially inspiring to experience how our business owners embrace the true meaning of the holiday spirit," said Downtown Albany BID Executive Director Georgette Steffens. "To Kris and Trag, we are grateful for your initiative to help ensure that area families will share an incredible Thanksgiving meal after what has been an especially hard year for so many."
