DELMAR, NY—Art on the Rail Trail (ART) is hosting its first ever online art auction April 19th - 25th. The money raised will support additional highly engaging public art installations and programs along the Albany County Helderberg-Hudson Rail Trail.

We are pleased to announce that this online auction features over 35 original works, made by Capital Region artists. This wide-ranging selection includes photography, fiber, found-object sculpture, paintings in acrylic and watercolor, as well as linocut prints, offering broad appeal to those wishing to start or expand their collection. And just as the artwork on the Rail Trail is accessible to all, the works included in this auction are intended to be affordable, with opening bids set between $50-$175.

Collecting art is an investment that grows in value and enhances daily experience of the home and workplace. Through this event, collectors will also be supporting local artists as well as the development and installation of exciting public art projects on the Albany County Helderberg-Hudson Rail Trail. The link will be available at https://mohawkhudson.org/art/  at 9am Monday, April 19th and will remain open through Sunday, April 25th. Winning bidders are charged when the auction closes, and event organizers will be in touch to coordinate retrieval of purchases.

Follow ART on the Rail Trail on Facebook and Instagram to see daily posts highlighting the participating artists. For questions or additional information about the auction, please email art@mohawkhudson.org.

ART on the Rail Trail (a sub-committee of the Mohawk Hudson Land Conservancy) was formed in 2017, with a mission to support and improve the Albany County Helderberg-Hudson Rail Trail, through the installation of art along the trail. The Rail Trail is a nine-mile paved multi-use path that spans from South Pearl Street in Albany to the Village of Voorheesville and is enjoyed by thousands of visitors each year.

To date, ART has placed five murals and a multi-piece installation along the trail as well as hosted three community chalk art events. For more information about ART, check out https://mohawkhudson.org/art/.
