Bethlehem Children’s School Welcomes the Return of its Middle School
(Slingerlands, New York) - With a new Tiny Sprouts, Pre-K successfully added last year, Bethlehem Children’s School continues addressing the enrollment gap by welcoming back its middle school. “The middle school has always been an integral part of this community but with our recent strategic planning initiatives, it was imperative to go back to the drawing board with a few things,” said Heather LeVeille, the school’s Executive Director, “We continue working countless hours, laying the groundwork for the greater success and long-term vision of the school. Pausing the middle school last year was one necessary change needed to achieve the overall goals and positive growth for this fantastic organization. We are absolutely thrilled to have the middle schoolers back on our soil.”
With the many positive changes of-late, faculty and staff have a renewed fire and it is infectious. Fifth-grader, Emily LeVeille spearheaded an overwhelmingly successful fundraiser, resulting in enough funds to build a new teaching kitchen for the school. Emily will be one of the students in next year’s returning middle school so she is especially excited that she will reap the benefits of the new kitchen that she worked hard to acquire.
The school’s reworked curriculum sets itself apart from other middle school programs by focusing on community outreach and community service projects. Heather continues, “Our motto is: Nature. Wisdom. Wellness. We want to be sure that our curriculum not only fosters the wellness of each individual child, but the wellness of our community as a whole.”
The Bethlehem Children’s School community includes its tremendous kinship with home-school families. The school has unique appeal to this population because it augments at-home-learning, giving home-school children the opportunity to learn specialties such as French, outdoor education, community outreach, innovative art, or general curriculum assistance, that otherwise might not be available.
