Sunmark Federal Credit Union Announces Promotions

(Latham, NY)  In Sunmark’s continual process of improving work flow and efficiencies, the Risk Management Department has undergone some internal changes to better serve the overall institution. 
 
Cassie Fortney has been elevated to the position of Compliance and Risk Manager.  Her primary responsibility will be to develop, implement and update Sunmark Federal Credit Union’s Compliance and Risk Program to ensure complete compliance with applicable federal and state laws and applicable regulations; and Sunmark’s Fraud and Security Program.  Ms. Fortney will also supervise Sunmark’s Quality Control Assistant Manager and Risk Management Specialist.  Ms. Fortney has been employed by Sunmark for five years and holds professional accreditations as a Credit Union Compliance Expert (CUCE), CUNA and Bank Secrecy Act Compliance Specialist (BSACS), CUNA. She holds a MBA from Sage Graduate School of Management, a B.S. in Psychology, from SUNY Binghamton and an Advanced Certificate of Study from the Shanghai Institute of Foreign Trade.
 
Sebrina Ward has been promoted to Assistant Manager of Quality Control where she will directly oversee the QC process. Sebrina’s primary responsibility is to oversee the quality control function by directing the workflow and acting as a resource to the Quality Control Specialists as well as a liaison between QC and other departments. Sebrina Ward has been employed by Sunmark for over five years and holds a BBA, from Bryant & Stratton College and Accounting, A.A.S, from Hudson Valley Community College.
