Zoning Board of Appeals The Bethlehem Town Board is seeking candidates to serve on the Zoning Board of Appeals (ZBA). The ZBA decides on appeals associated with use variances, area variances, and decisions made by the Town Building Division. The board has the authority to grant relief from applicable provisions of Zoning Law such as building heights, setbacks, and land uses. For more information on the ZBA, please visit the ZBA page on the Town website. The ZBA meets at 6pm on the first and third Wednesday of each month. In addition to attending meetings and reviewing documents in advance of meetings, ZBA members should be able to collaborate effectively with a diverse range of people. Annual compensation for ZBA members in 2025 was $6,839. It is the policy of Town of Bethlehem not to discriminate against any applicant because of age, color, sex, disability, national origin, race, religion, or veteran status. Bethlehem residents interested in serving as a member of the ZBA should submit a resume and brief cover letter to sagosta@townofbethlehem.org, and make sure to address any pertinent experience, including professional and personal experience, that is relevant to the position.
